Excellent video set to the instrumental of 'Nothing But the Blood' by Page CXVI. Of whom is currently streaming songs from their upcoming album Hymns III. If you have not heard any of their contemporary renditions of classic hymns, they are well worth the listen.

Proclaim release to the captives: Desiring God, John Piper @ Angola Prison

Praise God for faithful men and women who go into the prisons across this nation, and in others. Prisoners, not just spiritual captives, but literal lifers, need Christ too. Not just suburbanites, not just third worlders, everyone needs Christ.

From the Desiring God website.

Former Muslim Nabeel Qureshi Answers The Dearborn Mayor And Critics

Okay, since the local ministries in Dearborn believe that Acts 17 Apologetics are just troublemakers, and the Dearborn Mayor accuses them of being greasy money grubbing evangelists trying to raise money by making a stir, maybe it would help to hear what Nabeel Qureshi has to say regarding the matter?

Testimony of Wally Magdangal

Thinking about persecution of our brothers and sisters in lands where it is abundant it is something I do regularly. I have embedded a video of Wally Magdangal, a man who served as a Pastor in Saudi Arabia, was imprisoned, and tortured for his faith in Jesus Christ. But, Wally's persecution was not in vain, but for Christ's glory. Play the video and see the highlighted version of his full DVD. You can find his website, and DVD at Christians In Crisis International.

Francis Chan Speaks Regarding Persecuted Christians: Update

A brother of mine from our local assembly sent some of the Saints a video via Facebook. His plea was for us to first pray, and secondly, consider our ease as Christians in America. Please watch the video, and as you do, think about what you currently are doing to spread the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Update 02/28/10: Justin Taylor at Between Two Worlds has posted regarding the video previously shown here by Francis Chan and the persecution of Christians. I am in agreement with the following statement made.

I’ve been in touch with the folks from Cornerstone Community Church, and the videos are being pulled until their accuracy can be verified.

The question is not, as one commenter thought, about whether or not we doubt that severe persecution is occurring in India or in other parts of the world. The question is whether or not the footage in these videos is depicting Christians being persecuted for their faith. If it’s not, we don’t want to show it, as doing so knowingly would be both misleading and manipulative.

I apologize for my contribution to any confusion. I hope this doesn’t distract from the fact that such persecution is real and terrible, requiring prayers for our brothers and sisters. Again, I commend to you The Voice of the Martyrs for ways to get involved and informed.

I will try to post an update as soon as I hear more on this as well, and also agree with the apology for adding to any confusion. Needless to say, I feel that the images (be it they are Christians or not) brings to mind the imagery of believers being persecuted for their faith, it can, and DOES happen. So as stated originally, let us pray!

The Big Red Tractor: A Modern Day Parable

Here is an interesting video demonstrating the paradigm of 'Doing Church.' It was originally presented at The Verge10 Conference by Francis Chan. It is not deep seeded with theological nuggets, but is brimming with insight that we could all stand to listen to, especially those of us who are 'Church Goers.' Francis Chan gives an explanation at the end of the animated segment that clarifies any confusion viewers might have while watching it. So if you do not get it at first, you will if you hang out until the end. The original post resides @ SimpleChurch Journal.

Dearborn, MI: Arab Festival and the Abrogation of Free Speech

Believe it or not, things are still winding down from the conference. There has been so much going on that it would take days to share all the blessings, trials, speakers, prayers, professions of faith in Christ, and oh yeah the stifling of constitutional freedoms, the silencing of Gospel proclamation, and good ol' fashioned persecution.

Some of the debates went exceptionally well, and some were just a dogs' breakfast, but all of the training and information has been priceless. I can honestly say that for the third year in a row I've become increasingly more concerned about the Muslims here in Dearborn and will be (and in need of yours) prayer regarding the direction of ministry and future evangelism efforts. I hope to be posting some updates about what I've learned, some insights I want to share, and information about the direction I hope to go. Plus, the best part, some stories that are glorifying to God as I witnessed Him raise up many laborers to go into the field to harvest!

In the meantime, check out some of those who were here with us for the debates and to do outreach at the festival. They've had some interesting experiences and would direct you to their blog to hear it in their own words at AnsweringMuslims. I've included the videos from their two most recent posts and encourage you to consider (if you are from Detroit) joining us in reaching our lost Muslim neighbors for Christ!

The Fire

I'm willing to bet that this brother didn't intend for this to become a viral video, or a self-righteous promotion of piety, or a means of showing you of how much better you are than him/her. I do think and would bet that he has made this because his burden for those that are deceived is great.
Amen for this brother's courage. His name is Nate and you can also view/link this video on Blip.TV

The Glory of God - Paris Reidhead

I heard this sermon a few years ago. It stirred quite a motion in the depths of my spirit and motivated me to a desire for righteousness. It also motivated me to mission. It at the fabric of it's message summarizes the call to Christian purpose....

Please, consider your eternal destination. Can you feel this?

Listen to the words, then tell me, have you ever felt this way? Do you feel this way? How many of us are humble enough to admit our struggle? Can you say that pride and arrogance are not a dilemma faced daily? I feel these words, this struggle, and battle with this dilemma daily. Pray for me...
