I beheld Christmas this year with full knowledge of my 45 year old brother in the presence of Jesus, the same Jesus I thought about in a manger, being visited by shepherds. Cancer is no respecter of persons, holidays nor roles. Tender sweetness comes close to describing how I felt on Christmas day...I too have battled cancer and I am still here. Which one of us, my brother or me, knew of the true meaning of Christmas more???I think it was my brother...
One thing I have begun to understand is that trials give us an opportunity to give God glory---it's all about Him, how He helps us, graces us with all we need for every single moment in hospitals, CAT scans, oncology offices, and how we tell others that He is all we need for that moment. He is enough for all you go through and I pray you and your Mom will know His presence despite your situation. I can say honestly, that I have never, ever known the sweetness of God's presence like I did when I was suffering chemo, radiation, surgery and all the sickness..
Read II Cor 4:16,17.
Do not lose heart James..
God is with you brother.
He is faithful
Bonnie ZowadaBonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15876262011421304012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8157135349479028874.post-52129733815184280742009-12-27T23:29:13.352-05:002009-12-27T23:29:13.352-05:00Bonnie,Thank you for your kind comments and the sh...Bonnie,

Thank you for your kind comments and the sharing of your personal experience. I find that not only is the significance of the incarnation of Jesus Christ not emphasized, but gross materialism is emphasized.

Jesus told us to set our affections on things above and not on the things of this earth.

What I really hate to see is people allowing themselves to become stressed out over their inability to meet the financial demand of what is expected of them for christmas.Elroy Rankinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03624518002227173490noreply@blogger.com
